The New Atheists betrayed the West

Having acknowledged the threat that Islam posed to everything that was holy and good, and having seen that the Western Left was entirely unwilling to oppose this threat, the New Atheists came out with a bang --- in favor of Muslim immigration.

As the Oct 7 massacre causes many liberals to suddenly have second thoughts upon realizing their third-worlder colleagues want them dead, talk of forming a joint pro-civilizational front with them is in the air. Yes, we might not agree on XYZ, but clearly we can stand together in opposing barbarism, one is tempted to say. And yet, we already have a datapoint on the value of these common fronts, and it’s not very positive.

Remember that in the terror-scare years; Dawkins, Sam Harris and Bill Maher all publicly punctured liberal sacred victim-hood narratives about peaceful Muslims. They regularly pointed to publicly available data showed majority MENA Muslim support for things like killing apostates and stoning adulterers, and to the many atrocities the faithful were committing all throughout Europe. And they faced continual backlash from their progressive comrades for doing so, with Dawkins for example becoming an outcast from much if not most of the movement he had helped start. Meanwhile, Conservatives who had spent the better part of the last decade in the atheists’ cross-hairs, rose to applaud their ‘courage’ in standing up for the core values that were said to define western civilization.

And then something strange happened. Having acknowledged the threat that Muslims posed to everything that was holy and good, and having seen that the Western Left was entirely unwilling to oppose this threat, the New Atheists came out with a bang --- in favor of Muslim immigration.

Or Sam Harris and Bill Maher discussing the muslim ban:

“I thought, it’s time you and I had a talk because I knew early on in Trump’s administration he would do something stupid about muslims.” - Bill

And he did, I think we both agree his ban, I’ve always said it’s stupid, it’s un-american, it’s counterproductive… Let’s get that that right out of the way that we all think this is a dumb idea - the Muslim ban. - Bill

If you feel like staring into the void, you might want to spend a few minutes watching the earlier video and maybe the clip from the earliest cooperation between the two on the subject of Islam (yes, the Ben Affleck one) .

It is abundantly clear from these that Harris and Maher understand the following things.

1. Modern Islam is a uniquely evil religion, not remotely comparable to modern Christianity

2. The majority of foreign Muslims from the regions in question believe in it, in it’s evil form, which directly ties to terrorism.

3. Liberals, have no interest in confronting it’s evil, and are committed to making excuses for it; in fact this appears to be close to their most sacred commitment.

It is impossible to state these facts, without inevitably concluding that:

4. Peaceful integration will probably fail, at least not before rivers of blood are spilled *.

And yet Maher and Harris conclude that:

5. A ban on Muslim immigration is stupid. We need more “moderate Muslims” here, so that we can win the war against... Islam. After all Muslims are the primary victims of Islam.

Once again, this is not a matter of different opinions. Harris and Maher, understand exactly the same facts we do. They know that nothing is going to change, because they’ve been thoroughly chastised by their own side for attempting to change it. They know integration is impossible, not least because no one that matters has any intention of attempting it. They know that the only way to stop this train, is to stop it entirely. These are not wokes, they are not unwilling to mock liberal pieties.

But stopping immigration would be mean, so I guess we’ll all just have to accept our fate.

Having reached the acceptance of our decline stage, our based liberal champion still has one step left to take. He can still pass from acceptance to celebration.
